Norton Internet Security is one of the most well-known AntiVirus/Consumer security brands in the World and with that, Norton introduces its Norton Internet Security 2012 product.
The Norton family of software is probably most known for its Norton AntiVirus product, but with Internet Security, you effectively round up most of their home PC protection products into one application. This includes full protection against spyware and malware applications often picked up on the web, attacks through your IP address by use of Norton's firewall and full protection included with the most popular Internet browsers like Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer, the latter requiring the most protection historicly.
Norton Internet Security 2012 offers improvements over other versions which we've featured in the past and it now promises huge performance increases over the 2011 version. The new Norton Insight Protection is a system to inform you of potential and emerging threats on the Internet and full access to the Norton user community. Norton Performance Alerts is also included in Norton Internet Security 2012 and that module of the application gives you information about applications which may be slowing down your system... thereby giving hints on which applications to disable or uninstall.
But overall, while providing ample protection against online threats, Norton IS 2012 has really made some improvements on system performance issues which has made us reluctant to use Norton products at all in the past 10 years. On a downside, it seems to install too many addons to your Internet browser which makes browsing the web feel extremely cluttered.
With that said, Norton has been and still is a great product when it comes down to overall protection, just the addons and slowdowns that have always plagued Norton may still be present in NIS 2012.
Compatibility and License
This download is licensed as shareware for the Windows operating system from antivirus and can be used as a free trial until the trial period ends (after an unspecified number of days). The Norton Security Premium 22.6.0.142 demo is available to all software users as a free download with potential restrictions and is not necessarily the full version of this software.
What version of Windows can Norton Security Premium run on?
Norton Security Premium can be used on a computer running Windows 11 or Windows 10. Previous versions of the OS shouldn't be a problem with Windows 8 and Windows 7 having been tested. It comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit downloads.
